2011 Run For The Fallen CT

The Connecticut 2011 Run for the Fallen will be held this year on Saturday July 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Glastonbury High School.

The Run for the Fallen event started on Flag Day, June 14, 2008 where team members ran one mile for every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, and Marine killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  The run stretched across the country from Fort Irwin, CA to Arlington National Cemetery.

2010 was the first annual Run for the Fallen in CT, where $5,000 was raised to support the Wounded Warrior Project.  This year, the CT Run for the Fallen will run 58 miles – one for each of Connecticut’s fallen heroes, with hopes to contribute even more to the Wounded Warrior Project, Fisher House Foundation, and the Connecticut Patriot Guard Riders.

On July 9, 2011 at 2:00 AM a small group of runners will start the 58 mile run from the Veterans Memorial Park in Sterling, CT and will finish at the Glastonbury High School track.  The team will arrive at the high school around 2:00 PM and will complete one lap on the track.

Registration is free, and runners can show up at the high school to run/walk as much as they would like.  Runners can also collect donations before and during the event, or ask people to send a check made payable to:
